Romance for Two
The Sonoma Valley boasts many wineries that provide free wine tastings. The sprawling Sonoma Valley offers many different
locations and experiences for the two of you to reconnect. Pick an experience that suits the two of you, or try all of them
for an unforgettable getaway!
100 Boyes Blvd
Book a mission suite and come "home" to a large king suite that includes a two-person soaking tub with air jets,
a fireplace and a private patio furnished to lure you outdoors. The resort offers complimentary wine tasting
nightly from 4:30-5:30.
You simply cannot stay at this Fairmont Resort without treating yourself to a visit to the spa. A 90-minute
couple's massage is the perfect recipe for romance. Prepare yourselves for complete and total relaxation.
Arrive at the spa about an hour before your appointment and experience a seven-step co-ed bathing ritual, which
includes exfoliation, eucalyptus and…we’ll leave a little mystery to be unveiled when you arrive. Suffice it to
say, you’ll be on your way to revitalizing the intimacy lost as a road warrior.
Once the bathing ritual is completed, relax in the lounge and enjoy a cup of tea or refreshing flavored water.
Fresh fruit is available while you wait for your masseuses to call you into your appointment. The strawberries
may be the best you’ve ever tasted – or was it the experience that made them seem so?
Draw out the harmony of your deeply calming massage by enjoying a relaxing dip together in the natural hot-springs
pools. As the pools are reserved for spa guests, the serenity continues.
When the two of you finally meander back to your room, treat yourselves to in-room dining. The Mac and Cheese is
delicious, as well as the onion ring appetizer. If you would like something other than the complimentary bottle
of wine (Kenwood California, 2007, red table wine), in-room dining has a wide selection to choose from.
The Fairmont makes it easy to create a soothing cocktail lounge vibe in your own room with the CD in your Bose radio.
Lean back in your soaking tub and take it all in – this will be a night the two of you won’t soon forget.

Nestled in the charming community of Windsor, the Hampton Inn & Suites – Windsor Sonoma Wine Country is an immaculate,
friendly property just minutes away from the Windsor Town Green. The newer property offers 116 rooms and 36 studio
suites with granite wet bars, high definition televisions, granite vanities, tile floors and generously-sized showers.
Enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, as well as the complimentary high-speed internet access.
Spend the day walking around the Windsor Town Green, visiting shop after shop filled with old-time charm and organic local foods.
Across from the town green on McLelland is a beautiful park. Grab some food from the green grocer and have a picnic with your
significant other in the park, soaking in the sunshine. Want to adventure further? Redwood groves, hiking trails, watersports,
wineries and Infineon Raceway are within a short drive from Windsor.
3115 Porter Creek Rd
Upon checking in the two of you will get picked up by a guide in a Landrover and driven along the dirt roads to your cabin.
Your driver will bring your luggage into your tent for you and familiarize you with the Velcro windows, electric blanket, and
space heater. A cooler on your patio is stocked with iced bottled water, since the afternoon hours can be reminiscent of a
warm African safari.
Enjoy dinner with your fellow campers in a family-style buffet setting. Dine on barbecue chicken and salmon fillet, cooked
over an open-pit barbecue. After dinner, watch some younger guests throw chicken into the lake as the catfish jump up to
retrieve their food. It’s quite entertaining! At night, be sure to keep the door to your bathroom closed. The bathroom’s
open-air venting will really cool down your tent at night when the mountain air dips down to surprisingly low temperatures.
You may not think you’ll use your electric blanket, but you’ll be glad it’s there!
In the morning, embark on a Jeep tour with one of Safari West’s fantastic, entertaining guides. You are sure to see giraffes,
several different kinds of antelope, rhinoceros, ostrich and Watusi cattle. If you’re lucky, you’ll also be able to see the
often elusive impalas, zebras and cape buffalo. After the Jeep tour, your guide will lead you on a walking tour, where you’ll
get to visit the aviary, see a cheetah and watch the monkeys play. Your tour guide is incredibly knowledgeable and fun and
you’re sure to pick up some wild new animal facts!

The perfect end to a day of wine tasting in the Sonoma - Russian River Valley, the Applewood Inn restaurant is a treasure
in fine dining. A refined, capable staff will greet you and help turn your dinner into an event in which you are eager to partake.
The seasonal menu changes often, but the quality of the dishes remains unparalleled. Bruce Frieseke, the Executive Chef, produces
fare that is pleasing to both the eye and the palate. We started with a celery and gorgonzola salad that had a surprising tartness of
rhubarb, followed with entrees of baked Alaskan halibut with a softshell crab crust and grilled filet of Angus beef with a bone marrow
bordelaise. Complete your experience at Applewood Inn with a delectable dessert, such as the chocolate ganache cake with tea cherries.
The cuisine will leave you smiling and the ambience will inspire the two of you to walk hand-in-hand as you make your way to the car.
