When walking on the Strip, night or day, you’ll encounter peddlers of risqué material. Warn the children not to accept literature from anyone.
To reach many of these attractions via the front of the property, you will be routed through the casinos. In most cases the casinos can be avoided (and so can the peddlers) by entering through the parking garage in the back of the properties.
The “Disneyland-style” Buccaneer Bay Sea Battle at Treasure Island has been revamped into a “sexy and beautiful, adult Broadway-caliber show.” While once suggested that Las Vegas was structuring itself to market to families, I received communication from the MGM PR Manager stating the following hotels are undergoing an image change to market away from families and towards adults over 21: MGM Grand, Mirage, New York-New York, Bellagio, Treasure Island and the Golden Nugget.
Caesars Palace, Mandalay Bay and MGM have pools designated for topless bathing, even though the hotels will assure parents that children are shielded from those areas.
