Vegas, Family Style

Fountains of Bellagio

The Mirage
Leave it to Vegas to offer some of the grandest attractions you can find anywhere. Families shouldn’t confine themselves to Circus, Circus and the Excalibur when wave pools, lush tropical rain forests, gondola rides, indoor lightning storms and a stroll through Parisian streets are competing for their attention.

We don’t have to tell you where to find gambling in Las Vegas, but we’ll point out the coolest attractions and shows suitable for families on and off the strip that you won’t want to miss.

When checking into your hotel, ask the Front Desk staff for complimentary copies of Vegas city magazines. They’ll be happy to oblige.

What Parents Should Know

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority

About the Drive
It's about a four hour drive from Santa Clarita to Las Vegas--providing you're not going when everyone else is going. Tales of seven hour drives are not uncommon when traveling at peak time, because I-15 is at times a two-lane highway in both directions. Keep in mind So. Californians logged in ten million visits to Las Vegas in 2005 alone--by car.

When should you leave? Avoid Friday night and Saturday mornings eastbound, and Sunday afternon and evenings westbound.
