The first annual Citrus Classic Hot Air Balloon Festival debuted on July 25-27, 2008 in the beautiful, and often overlooked, Heritage Valley. Held in the outskirts of Santa Paula,
in Ventura County, just outside of Los Angeles. Spectacular views of field crops, orchards and working ranches relatively unchanged since the turn of the century, are the backdrop
for the colorful ascension of participating hot air balloons.
Within an easy drive of Los Angeles, those looking to vacation close to home this year won't need to drive far to enjoy this hot air balloon festival,
delicious oranges just picked from the tree, and fresh honey that would make Jerry Seinfeld (a.k.a. Barry B. Benson) proud. For those who wish to stay closer
to the festival and make an overnight vacation of it, Valencia and the Santa Clarita Valley hotels offer a convenient location for those attending the Citrus Classic Hot Air Balloon Festival.
This hot air balloon festival, just outside of Los Angeles, is primarily a spectator event, with opportunities to watch the hot air balloons glow at night, and ascend for morning races.
Balloon rides are typically not available to the public during balloon festivals, but other activities include live music and entertainment, a Kids Activity Korral, and a Heritage Valley
Vendors Village with an assortment of food, beverages, arts, crafts and souvenirs.
This hot air balloon festival near Los Angeles is convenient to not only Los Angeles, but also Valencia, Santa Clarita, Santa Barbara, Bakersfield, Oxnard, and Burbank.
Don't miss this amazing hot air balloon festival, so convenient to major Southern California attractions!
