There are three venues to choose from in the SCV. Whether it's a hometown parade, gathering in the park, swimming in the lake, singing the national anthem or just "oohing" and "aahing" at the fireworks, it's all here.

4th of July Parade "Sights & Sounds of Santa Clarita "
...begins on San Fernando Road in Old Town Newhall. The 4th of July theme in 2008 is "Sights & Sounds of Santa Clarita." The
route
travels down Lyons Avenue to Orchard Village and finishes at 16th Street. The Parade has been a long-standing tradition in the Santa Clarita Valley since it began in 1932. Free. Further details

NOTE: There is nothing official planned in Newhall Park following the parade in 2008.

Old Fashioned 4th of July BBQ & Live Band
The Greens is hosting a traditional BBQ of tri-tip, chicken, mash potatoes, baked beans, corn on the cob, and watermelon. Live music begins at 3:00 pm. BBQ served from 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Adults, $14.95; Kids, $12.95 Reservations Required! 661-222-2900

Santa Clarita families are invited to enjoy a great July 4th meal, with a primo view of the annual fireworks show from the Town Center Mall in our Whole Foods Market parking lot. Dinner, drinks and treats for $6. A great plate full of all natural choices, including a beef, turkey or veggie hot dog, slice of watermelon, potato salad, mixed berry shortcake and water or natural soda.

This entire event is free. Plan to walk if you live in the area, as parking is difficult.

This is a non-commercial event, so bring your own picnic, blanket and chairs. Please note that alcohol is not permitted in county parks.

Annual Stevenson Ranch Fireworks Spectacular at Richard H. Rioux Memorial Park, Stevenson Ranch. Proclaimed by the LA Times to be the best fireworks display in the Santa Clarita Valley, with over 600 aerial displays lasting 20-25 minutes.
Please note that there is a possibility that the Stevenson Ranch show could be canceled at the last minute due to weather conditions, such as heavy winds. If that were to happen the show would be re-scheduled. Please check the

Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain, in the interest of the local community and the high brush fire conditions in the Santa Clarita Valley, will no longer be implementing summer fireworks.
Six Flags regrets ending the summer fireworks tradition and asks guests and neighbors to understand and support the decision.
