Holiday Celebrations

Just because we enjoy a warm climate doesn’t mean we don’t get into the Christmas spirit! December is a special time in Santa Clarita as neighborhoods are brightly lit with tiny colored lights, merchants decorate for the season, and holiday concerts and plays remind us of the reason for the festivities.

If you’re looking for something to do for the day outside of our valley, there are plenty of other nearby cities putting on boat parades, light displays, holiday plays and concerts, California-style “sleigh” rides, and an opportunity to play in the snow. You could spend ten years in the area before experiencing all of these wonderful events, and the best part is you won’t need a heavy coat and mittens to do it.

Plan ahead when possible, because events sometimes begin as early as late November, and the most popular may sell out early.

Now, if you do want to go somewhere where you’ll need to work to keep warm, check out our ideas in Winter Wonderlands. You’ll find real sleigh rides, snow skiing, cozy fireplaces, down blankets and hot chocolate at these getaways.

Whether it is Hanukkah or Christmas you celebrate, your heart will be warmed as you join others in merriment.
